L’Art du Temps: program on watchmaking

From various filmmakers. Restored digital copy Tempus was made as part of a commission by the Swiss Chamber of Watchmaking. This animated film tells the story of a wild animal trainer facing the changes of his era. The filmmaker couple uses paper cutout stop motion techniques to create the film. There are also inserts of filmed watchmaking factory images. An advertising film commissioned in 1931 by the Zenith company to Eos-Film, La Fabrication de l’horlogerie combines product promotion with a staging of industrial production advances, contrasting with past workshops. To accompany this program, a surprise Swiss Ciné-Journal will be screened! The digitization of Swiss Ciné-Journaux, all available on memobase.ch, is a project supported by Memoriav.
