Description
The Lachner Chilbi has a tradition spanning several hundred years. Since 1711, the day of the church consecration and the annual church festival of the Exaltation of the Cross have been associated with a fair. On the occasion of the completion of the renovation of the parish church in 1883, the people of Lachen decided to hold a large celebration. The church consecration festival then fell on September 2, 1883. Since then, the Lachner Chilbi has always taken place on the first weekend of September on the squares by the lake and the associated market in the streets of the village center of Lachen.
