Lab Rats

Description

The audience sits on four sides around a glass cage, resembling an oversized terrarium, and closely follows how two people come together in a very confined space. Like lab rats, the two figures, who seem not to know each other, collide. They watch each other, then playfully approach each other like children. Carefully, they try to invent a common language to communicate. Without words. And they learn to get along with each other to end loneliness. Finally, they find a spectacular way to escape isolation.
This sometimes very acrobatic performance deals with the countless adjustments required in a relationship between two people in an absurdly comic way.
Marc Oosterhoff is the rising star of the Swiss circus world. He presents his cross-genre productions on tours throughout Europe. In LAB RATS, he explores the fragility of relationships humorously together with artist Owen Winship. The audience witnesses a circus duet from an unusual perspective.
