Description

The self-consumption association (ZEV) allows the sale and use of self-generated solar power within a building or area. All parties benefit from this: owners of solar systems increase the profitability of their investment, while electricity consumers benefit from lower energy costs. At the same time, the ZEV model makes an important contribution to decentralized energy supply based on renewable energies. With the Electricity Act passed on June 9, 2024, Switzerland is creating additional opportunities for the use of locally generated electricity from 2025. The virtual self-consumption association (vZEV) is newly introduced, allowing existing connection lines to be used for a ZEV. Measurement and billing are done via the meters of the distribution network operators. In addition, the local electricity community (LEG) enables the trade of locally produced electricity over the public grid – within a neighborhood or even a municipality. The exact framework conditions for both models will be defined in the relevant ordinances in November 2024. These innovations are part of the course and will be covered in depth. The one-day course focuses on all relevant information for planning, implementing, and operating a self-consumption association (ZEV). The course conveys the technical and legal basics of ZEV in general and addresses current information on vZEV and LEG. Using practical examples, we show you the planning, financing, and billing process of a ZEV. Furthermore, we provide an overview of how self-consumption and energy management can be optimized.

General Information

The course conveys all relevant basics for planning, implementing, and billing self-consumption associations (ZEV), virtual ZEV (vZEV), and local electricity communities (LEG). It takes place in Dietikon at Enpuls AG and is aimed at everyone involved with decentralized energy supply and renewable energies.
