The Hidden Geometry of Plants I Sun. 28.06.26 I 14-16.30H Ferns curl into spirals, Romanesco grows in perfect repetition, flowers arrange themselves almost as if by magic. But behind this beauty lies a fascinating geometry. Inspired by Benoît Mandelbrot and Ernst Haeckel, we explore fractals, symmetries, and the golden spiral in the Botanical Garden. We collect shapes, observe leaf arrangements, and transform our discoveries with paper and scissors into our own ornamental artworks. A studio between natural research and creative joy. The Art and Nature event series – studios for children and families – invites you between May and October 2026 to the Botanical Garden of the University of Zurich for creative experimenting in community. Our creative workshops offer an open atmosphere for stimulating exchange among children and families as well as inspiration to discover nature as a source of creativity and relaxation. *The workshops will be held in the university building | UZH cafeteria*
