The panel is dedicated to participants from the fields of culture (Manfred Ferrari), politics (Christine Egerszegi), and tourism promotion (Kaspar Howald) discussing the role of cultural creation for the resilience of a community and simultaneously highlighting the tensions between free, non-purpose-bound cultural practice and the demands of culture tourism aimed at holiday guests.
Under the moderation of film and theater director Julian Grünthal, the discussion revolves around whether culture fulfills social tasks or should increasingly contribute to tourist value creation. Topics include the freedom of art, the often demanded unpaid participation of cultural creators, and the question of whether professional cultural creation is recognized by politics and administration as an independent work sector.
Following the successful panels TALK ABOUT IT and WRITE ABOUT IT, Postremise and t. Graubünden continue their jointly launched discussion series.
