On Halloween night, fog lies over Wyher Water Castle when historian Beat Hodel is found dead next to the document chest in the knights' hall, an old devil mask on his face. Detective Commissioner Roggenmoser quickly realizes that the murder is no horror joke but is connected to Hodel's research on illegally rezoned building land in the Wiggertal. The first clues apparently lead to a local personality. A hair-raising case for the friend of special cases – Commissioner Roggenmoser! He immediately starts the investigation with his team.
