Three musicians, all of whom have successfully completed their classical studies at the renowned Hochschule für Musik Basel, have miraculously met during their teaching activities at various music schools in the Basel region. There, they discovered a shared passion that fills them with fire and devotion - the music of the enchanting green island. Since then, they have dedicated themselves as the group DÚIL (which means longing, desire, and hope) to traditional Irish music. With their sounds, they take us into a world full of melancholic ballads, lively polkas and mazurkas, as well as breathtaking jigs, hornpipes, and reels. In keeping with their motto, Katharina Bereuter on the tin whistle, Yvonne Deusch-Cammarosano on the Celtic harp, and Michael Deusch on the bodhrán invite you on a musical journey. The program is complemented by actor Vincent Leittersdorf, known for various productions in film and television as well as his engagements at Theater Basel. He will intersperse the music pieces with atmospheric and humorous stories, putting the audience in a joyful New Year's Eve mood.
