Description

Masterpieces and rarities of chamber music from Vienna during Beethoven's era, presented at the founding location of the Cyprian Ensemble, which celebrates its 15th anniversary. The Freiburg Cyprian Ensemble was formed in 2011 on the initiative of pianist Carl-Martin Buttgereit. The ensemble's instrumentation with trumpet, trombone, wind quintet, string quartet, double bass, and piano allows musicians to perform rarely heard chamber music in various instrument combinations. Members of the SWR Symphony Orchestra, solo woodwind players from the Freiburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and winners of international competitions are part of the ensemble. The musicians are united by their enthusiasm for the rich sound colors, often changing during a concert, and for discovering rarely heard chamber music rarities.
