Concert with Bandura, a string instrument from Ukraine

Description

A special accent will be set by the ensemble “BERISKA” from Kyiv, which will present spiritual songs, folk songs with texts by famous Ukrainian poets, and melodies on typical instruments of the country from the traditional Ukrainian repertoire. The famous Cossack ballads from old Ukraine, which not only sound melancholic but can also be captivating, will also be performed accompanied by banduras. The diverse musical range of traditional Ukrainian music will be experienced live by the audience of this concert. This music aims to provide insight into the Ukrainian soul – its depth, warmth, tenderness, and love of homeland. The members of the ensemble are professional musicians or students of the Kyiv and Lviv music academies and members of the free Kyiv and Lviv music associations as well as the Philharmonic in Chernihiv. The ensemble was founded in Kyiv in 2003 and since its inception has distinguished itself by supporting young musicians and, through benefit concerts in Great Britain, supporting orphanages among others in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. The ensemble “BERISKA” from Kyiv has also successfully performed several times in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Denmark, France, and Luxembourg.
