In 2025, the UNESCO World Heritage Monastery of St. Johann in Müstair will celebrate its 1250th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the monastery's museum is dedicating a retrospective to the artist, textile designer, nun and former prioress Sister Pia Willi.
The focus is on graphic works from three creative periods in the field of tension between convent life and artistic creation. Drawings from her student years at the Zurich School of Applied Arts and the André Lhote Art Academy in Paris will be shown for the first time, as well as designs for traditional costume embroidery and the popular "Willi cards" with motifs from convent life.
