Monastery Tour

Description

The Engelberg Monastery warmly invites all guests interested in immersing themselves in an inspiring atmosphere for reflection. The library is not part of the public tour. During the time travel through the monastery's history, a visit to the newly designed exhibition room is also included. Here, original books from the Engelberg scriptorium are displayed. The works were created at the writing school founded by Abbot Frowin in the 12th century. Brothers of the community share knowledge from the over 900-year history and include interesting aspects of Benedictine daily life. The tour takes place over 3 floors. There is no elevator. For wheelchair users or those who have difficulty walking, the tour is unfortunately only possible with restrictions. Meeting point

The public tour at the Benedictine monastery Engelberg offers visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the over 900-year history of the monastery. The tour spans three floors and includes a visit to the newly designed exhibition room with original books from the 12th century.
