Description

Contemporary Salon in Central Switzerland 2026 exhibition project at the akku Kunstplattform Emmen, at the Hans Erni Museum Lucerne, at the Galerie Stans, and at the Tal Museum Engelberg. The Zurich group of figurative painting is appearing with guests from the region for the first time in Central Switzerland. Each of the four exhibition venues displays works by all participants but emphasizes a different thematic focus. A rich accompanying program deepens the central theme of the exhibitions: the contemporaneity of figurative painting. At the Tal Museum, it is about the surface and what lies beneath: UnterGrund. The surface is the first thing we perceive: the visible skin of the image, shaped by material, print, and gloss, where meaning first reveals itself. But it always points to something underneath, to a structure that arises as an inner order from traces, rhythm, and compression. The figure also combines these levels, being both physical shell and human fabric of history and tension. Thus, surface and structure form a lively interplay, in which the visible and the invisible are inseparably connected. During the exhibition, the following opening hours apply: Wednesday to Sunday, 14:00 – 17:00. Exhibition tour with the artists Corinne Güdemann, Vera Mattmann, and Urs Aeschbach, Sunday, June 7 at 14:30. Cost: Museum admission. Concert: Listening to Pictures with harp sounds by the ensemble Harpeggiotrio, Sunday, September 20 at 14:30 and 15:30. Cost: Museum admission. Event duration until October 4, 2026.
