Description
Four quirky birds peel themselves out of a giant egg one after the other, and finally a large black wing also appears. Curious, the newly hatched explore the world around them. Fearlessly, they examine the mysterious instrument from all sides, creating unprecedented music playfully.
The piano wing here is not a solo instrument that requires many hours of solitary practice. It becomes a place for encounter and joint making music: two pianists and two percussionists discover the instrument from new perspectives. The wing is sometimes a keyboard instrument, sometimes a plucked string instrument, sometimes even a drum set, taking the audience on a short discovery journey through the music of the 20th and 21st centuries. Participants and additional information:
Annekatrin Klein (piece development/performance/production management); Franziska Henschel (piece development/direction); Roberto Maqueda, Miguel Angel Garcia Martin, Petralia Sinforosa (performance); Alexandre Babel (composition); Tassilo Tesche (scenography/conceptual collaboration); Anna Kleihues (costumes/conceptual collaboration)
