Kirchner and Baselitz Remix: Repetition in Woodcut 01.05.2025 – 30.10.2026 The Henze & Ketterer Gallery presents an exhibition of woodcuts by Georg Baselitz and Ernst Ludwig Kirchner on the upper floor of the gallery. At the center of the exhibition are six large-format remix woodcuts by Baselitz, which reinterpret heroic images from his early creative phase. These are contrasted with central woodcuts from all creative phases of Kirchner. The exhibition makes the artistic method of repetition and reformulation visible as a central element of both positions and shows how two generations of German art history develop timeless visual power in their own way. An accompanying online catalog presents the exhibited woodcuts alongside their painterly counterparts and enables an in-depth engagement with the works. We look forward to your visit!
