I have the feeling that I am just at the beginning. It's strange because for the last 15 years I have been traveling from gig to gig in a camper van, chasing this crazy dream. I grew up in Merimbula, a small town on the east coast of Australia, known for surfing, oysters, and whale watching. At 15, I started playing as a street musician at local farmers' markets; thanks to a fake ID, I was also able to perform in pubs nearby. Right after high school, I set off in a van to realize my dreams and move across the country surfing. In my first year, I was lucky to win the street music competition at Byron Bluesfest and was awarded 'Folk Artist of the Year' at the National Folk Festival. This led to incredible travels to Japan, North America, and Europe. I performed worldwide as a street musician and bought two more camper vans on other continents. I now own three; every year I fly between them, play at festivals, and explore the most remote corners of the world as well as all the beautiful places where I can make music. I was fortunate to make friends early on with Billy Bragg from England; he taught me a lot about how to sustain oneself as an artist long-term. He took me on tour in America, Canada, Europe, and England for a whole year, and we performed together at Glastonbury Festival. During this time, I wrote the song 'Window to the Sky.' It appeared on the album 'Silence/Win,' which significantly helped me take the next step musically. I signed contracts with major labels like Warner, Atlantic Records (UK), and Universal (Europe). 'Window to the Sky' was the most played song on Triple J radio station at the time, reached number 42 on the 'Hottest 100' charts, achieved platinum status in Australia and gold in Canada and Germany, and was streamed over 50 million times. Today, I manage my career myself and steer this wonderful ship personally. I have great people around me worldwide who have become close friends over the years and support me on my journey. But I am incredibly proud to have full control over my own path as an artist. A huge thank you to Billy, who was such a great role model for me! A few years ago, I started getting up before sunrise and making songwriting a small ritual at dawn. Every morning around 5 a.m., I light candles and write music. This inspired my last album 'Dawn Sounds,' released in January 2023. As an independent, self-managed artist, I went on a world tour, sold over 12,000 tickets, and played 149 concerts. I am now back in Australia; I am writing these lines in my camper in a small town on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. On October 11, my new album will be released, and I am very much looking forward to touring worldwide with it. It is titled 'It’s Lovely To Have You Here.'
