Description
Courage or madness? In a small inflatable boat, packed with supplies and camera gear, Robert Neu embarks on a journey along the 3,185 km long Yukon River. With his ultralight Packraft, he aims to traverse North American wilderness from Canada and Alaska, paddling from the glaciers of the source lakes in British Columbia to the mouth in the wind-swept Bering Sea. Months of solitude on and along the river follow, where he encounters only sporadically people – often indigenous Indians and Yupik Eskimos. Otherwise, he is left to himself and leads a touchingly primitive life in nature, characterized by simplicity, honesty, and breathtaking silence. Close encounters with beavers, moose, eagles, and bears are part of the experience. Interestingly, the greatest dangers to his adventure come from an arsonist and a knife attacker who want to destroy his inflatable boat... An exciting account of fulfilling a lifelong dream! The lecture with Robert Neu is a plea for realizing one's own dreams! Additional information:
