At the beginning of everything was a small insignificant movement … … and then the sound joined in! The percussion dance group Cloggers presents a unique clogging show. After years of experience organizing dance rhythm projects in the Czech Republic and abroad, Cloggers are set to conquer the stages of Czech theaters with a full-length show inspired by Lord of the Dance and Stomp! You can expect an evening full of dance, rhythms, music, emotions, and humor, as is customary with the Cloggers. As the name of the show suggests, you simply won't be able to sit still during the performance… Cloggers is a percussion dance group uniting the best cloggers in the Czech Republic. Their main dance style is clogging (American tap), which they combine with other dance and rhythmic disciplines. Throughout the show, the dancers create their own music using various instruments, props, their own bodies, and often even the audience. They bring humor and acting elements to the overall experience. The group was officially formed in 2022. Its members have many years of experience from their home dance clubs. They rank among the top positions in the Czech Clogging Championships and regularly perform in the Czech Republic and abroad. Thanks to this extensive experience, high-level dance skills, and the integration of tap with other artistic fields, Cloggers is a unique project not only in the Czech Republic but also in all of Europe. In 2024, Cloggers officially became the champions of the Czech and Slovak Republics in clogging and clogging acapella. Clogging, known as American tap, is originally an American folk dance, related to classical tap dance. Both styles use foot strikes and sometimes rhythmic hand movements. Modern clogging, however, includes a richer movement component and innovative elements. The main difference from tap dance lies in the footwear – clogging shoes have a double plate, which creates a more resonant and penetrating sound. Directed by: Jiří Vašák
