Shortly afterwards, they come up with the idea of getting married in every country where marriage between two women is permitted. It is an ambitious undertaking, which the couple pursue with great enthusiasm, setting off on a journey together through 22 countries. But their love is soon put to the test… The moving story behind this romantic drama is based on the real-life experiences of the Belgian artist couple Fleur Pierets and Julian P. Boom, who married for the first time in 2017. Through their ‘Project 22’, they sought to draw attention to the legal situation facing homosexuals.
