Long gone are the days when drummers in jazz were just timekeepers – they now shape entire soundscapes as composers and bandleaders. Jonas Sorgenfrei also stands in this tradition. The Nuremberg drummer and composer presents a modern, multifaceted jazz that makes personal moods audible. His credo: to pour into music what moves you. His original compositions tell of everyday moments as well as of torn loyalties between desire and reality – aptly named the "Cracks In The Silence," as his latest release as a bandleader is called.
