Not only Brahms and Dvořák, but also West Side Story
Concert by Jiří Pinkas (member of the renowned Bennewitz Quartet) with his son Matěj is dramaturgically conceived so that the first half features works from the classical repertoire – A. Dvořák and J. Brahms. After the break, a slightly lighter program follows, which may attract an audience that normally does not attend purely classical repertoire. It includes the nine most famous songs from Leonard Bernstein's musical West Side Story, arranged for viola and piano. Between the songs, listeners will be briefly guided through the storyline inspired by Shakespeare's drama Romeo and Juliet. Subscription cards are valid for this performance, and a limited number of remaining tickets are on sale at www.kcct.cz, at the City Museum (Klácelova 11), at the Cultural Center office (Nádražní 397), and 1 hour before the start at the box office.
