For many years, the duo Jan Plewka and Marco Schmedtje have been a guarantee for intense musical moments. With Zinoba, they had a joint band from 2003 to 2005. With the now second-part series "Jan Plewka sings Rio Reiser," they paid an extraordinary tribute to the band Ton Steine Scherben and the songs of their late frontman Rio Reiser, both live and on record, complemented by a great live band and an audiovisual implementation that is both modern theater and an engaging live concert. This was followed by an approach to two other artists, equally appreciated by both, Simon & Garfunkel. With "Between the Bars" and "Between the 80s," Plewka and Schmedtje enchanted their audience in numerous sold-out shows over the past years. In early 2026, the two are returning to the stages with "Between the Lights," a new program including an EP. They focus on songs about death. Songs like Killing me Softly, The End, or Wonderful Life guide the listener through an emotional bath of their own existence. Of course, they also celebrate the joyful moments in between. An evening that approaches farewell in a heartfelt way, sometimes in major, sometimes in minor. It involves pulling, healing, crying, and laughing. In the end, it is an invitation to life. Singing along is welcome!
