Description
In our program, we connect songs like "Yueliang Daibiao Wo Di Xin" (China), "Juramento" (Cuba), "S isch äbe ne Mönsch uf Ärde" (Switzerland), or "Cai elinden öteye" (Turkey), among many others. All of them tell stories of people's life experiences in the most diverse regions of the world, about the hardships of life, love (fulfilled or unfulfilled), suffering, or joyful festivals. The songs are proposed by the singers of the choir and arranged atmospherically for us and our accompanying quintet by our conductor and artistic director Bernhard Furchner. This makes our concert so immediate and intense. We look forward to your visit and enjoyment of our concert, and to being carried into many worlds of life. The Choir of Nations The Choir of Nations is a mixed choir with singers from many nations, currently divided into six sister choirs in Bern, Lucerne, Zurich, Basel, Biel, and St. Gallen. We believe that through making music together, we can perceive each other better, regardless of origin, language, culture, or religion. We meet regularly and sing in the national language (German) as well as in the many different languages of our home countries. The goal is to share these songs in concerts with other people.
