Odd Beholder is the Electro Wave / Indie Pop project of Swiss musician Daniela Weinmann, who precisely and succinctly documents the oddities, shadows, and misunderstandings of our time. Weinmann talks about alienation and escapism, emancipation, and the view of a potentially better world. Her version of embracing, darker pop music deals with uncomfortable truths while offering comfort at the same time.
On the new concept album "Honest Work," ten songs tell stories from the adult lives of working people from the middle and lower classes. These include night shifts in hospitals, pumping breast milk in storage rooms, questioning whether to get Ritalin prescribed, being summoned to the boss's office for wearing the wrong clothes, and taking a day off to walk barefoot by a lake. It is an album about people who try—and often fail—to find their way within systems that turn them into anonymous data points, employees, and consumers. iuri is a singer-songwriter from Basel. iuri's debut album was released in May 2025 and features contributions from artists like Anuk Schmelcher and Tara Cunningham. Besides her own shows, iuri has also opened for artists like Cori Nora, Mnevis, or Liana Flores—Odd Beholder now joins this list. iuri participated in Sophie Hunger's songwriting masterclass and released a new single "Grip" in February 2026.
