At dusk, the romantic « Laternliweg » trail lights up on Schwägalp. Bathed in the gentle glow of countless lanterns, this paved trail crosses the snow-covered Weidwald forest and creates a special nocturnal atmosphere. This winter walk is ideally combined with a delicious fondue at the Passhöhe inn or at the « Säntis – das Hotel » restaurant. Opening hours The Laternliweg is illuminated from November 26, 2026, to February 27, 2027, Thursday to Saturday from 4 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays, the illuminated Laternliweg leads to the Passhöhe inn. Attention: in case of gusts of wind or storms, the Laternliweg remains unlit for safety reasons. Gastronomic tip Combine this romantic walk with a delicious fondue at the « Säntis – das Hotel » restaurant or at the Passhöhe inn. Important notes - Due to the risk of slipping, sledging is prohibited on the Laternliweg. - Despite trail maintenance, slippery areas may occur. We recommend wearing good shoes with treaded soles. - Dogs must be kept on a leash. - In case of gusts of wind or storms, the Laternliweg is not lit.
