Description

Park pioneers, researchers, travelers, professional photographers, or park rangers – they have all left a fantastic collection of photographs in the over hundred-year history of the park. We have selected a few dozen of these images and rephotographed them in the last two years at exactly the same locations.

Using pairs of images from then and now, we show how the landscape has changed over the last 111 years. We also tell exciting stories. Thanks to the total protection of species and processes, nature can develop freely in the national park. This makes it wilder and more interesting.

We invite you to closely observe this development towards more "wilderness." You will be amazed at what there is to discover.

General Information

The exhibition shows pairs of images from then and now, documenting changes in the Swiss National Park over 111 years. Visitors can observe the development of the landscape and nature over time and learn more about protection and wilderness in the park.
