A sound journey through space and time. Pianist and composer Hania Rani revives texts from Renaissance songs by John Dowland in her contemporary sound language. Together with internationally renowned singers Emily D’Angelo and Álfheidur Erla Guðmundsdóttir, Hania Rani designs a mystical, installation-based concert performance at the Elisabethenkirche: a futuristic oratorio. The sacred space transforms into a soundscape that elevates time and creates an endless loop between the Elizabethan past and a distant future. Rani's work is also a celebration of differences that do not exclude each other, existing side by side, like piano music and electronics, like harmony and noise.
