Description
Why did the Germans mock the Czechs? And how did the Czechs respond? What does T. G. Masaryk have to do with it all?
A performance for a teenage audience, dealing with the case of the forgery of the so-called "Manuscripts" (the Králové Dvorský and Zelenohorský Manuscripts) and the exposure of the forgery by a group of scientists around the later first Czechoslovak president T. G. Masaryk.
At a time when every piece of information that enters the ether must be strictly verified and weighed for its relevance on a pharmacist's scale, our performance emphasizes the role of critical thinking and the necessity of subjecting the "reality" around us to ruthless examination.
Our hero is Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, who inspired the slogan "Truth Prevails" on the Czechoslovak presidential standard. Masaryk stood against the manuscript forgeries despite the general belief in their authenticity, or rather the widespread desire for their authenticity. Duration: 60 minutes
