Description

At the beginning of their seventeen-year career, Holy Wave immersed themselves in a calm world of psychedelia, eschewing extended jams and virtuosic guitar solos in favor of a dreamy, pop-oriented approach. Over the course of the band's development, their early sound, reminiscent of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and The Velvet Underground, gave way to more sophisticated melodies and experimental instrumentation. Thus, their music moved away from sun-bleached nostalgia and evolved into a colorful dimension where sounds of the past, present, and future merged. The childhood friends Ryan Fuson, Joey Cook, Kyle Hager, and Julian Ruiz grew up in El Paso, where they gained their first experiences in the local DIY scene. Hungry for more music and new perspectives, the band members often took road trips through the southwestern USA to see touring bands that avoided West Texas. This wanderlust eventually led to their move to Austin and also shaped their experimental songwriting and touring lifestyle. Holy Wave will release their sixth album "i’m DADA" on July 10, 2026, on Suicide Squeeze Records. Wheelchair seats: Wheelchair users require a regular ticket; the venue is wheelchair accessible.
