Description

The album cover already gives a hint: BAEST is taking new paths with «Colossal» and by 2026 will no longer be solely known for the harsh Death Metal they have been celebrating since the beginning and also on their 2021 album «Necro Sapiens». The first notes sound more like «Accept». However, it is not as if the beast has been completely tamed: Simon Olsen's vocals are as harsh as ever, and the opener «Stormbringer» develops the familiar vehemence after the subdued introductory riff. «Colossal» combines the beastly death metal sound with a good dose of classic rock, and it works fantastically: whether it's «Stormbringer», «Colossus», or «Misfortunate Son».
