MUSIC | CLASSICAL On the 250th anniversary of Johann Sebastian Bach's death in 2000, Maurizio Croci performed the entire organ works of the composer in Bern. Also at the monastery church concert by the renowned organ professor from Fribourg, Bach's music is the focus – from the monumental Toccata in d minor BWV 538 to choral arrangements from the third part of the "Klavierübung," framed by the festive prelude and the three-part fugue in E-flat major BWV 552. In addition to the Goll organ, Croci plays the historic Köberle organ to give an authentic sound picture to the compositions of Heinrich Scheidemann (1596–1663). But a chest organ can also be heard in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's unique church sonatas, combined with two violins (Fiorenza de Donatis, Chiara Fasani Stauffer) in the altar area of St. Jakob's Church.
