The Hespéris Duo establishes itself as an essential formation on the classical and contemporary scene in French-speaking Switzerland. Led by French guitarist Clara Parolini and Swiss cellist Sara de Riedmatten, this duo offers an instrument alliance as intimate as it is surprising, where stylistic rigor meets vibrant modern sensitivity. Their repertoire offers an eclectic journey through time, dialoguing with masters of the past – from Friedrich Dotzauer to Heitor Villa-Lobos and Astor Piazzolla – with today's musical languages. Deeply rooted in its region, the Hespéris Duo makes French-speaking Switzerland its creation laboratory. The duo notably includes in its program the finely crafted pieces of the Sion-based master Guy Kummer-Nicolussi, an essential figure in guitar and composition in Valais. Simultaneously, the ensemble collaborates closely with other regional composers, whose dedicated works will be unveiled as world premieres during 2026. Two paths of excellence in service of transmission: Clara Parolini (guitar), holding a Master Performance from the Hochschule für Musik in Basel under the direction of Pablo Márquez, regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician at major festivals. She teaches her art at the LaClé association in St-Maurice. Sara de Riedmatten (cello), trained at the conservatories of Sion and Lausanne where she earned a first prize in virtuosity, was for many years the 2nd solo cello at the Neuchâtel Symphony Orchestra. Very active in the region with Ensemble AdHoc, she teaches at the Cantonal Conservatory of Valais (Sion and Martigny). After captivating audiences at the Wolff Foundation in Sion, at the Château Mercier Aperitif Concerts in Sierre, and at the Martigny Temple, the duo continues its journey with the firm intention of stirring the heart of Valais. A musical event marked by lyricism and rhythmic momentum.
