When Heinrich Del Core tells his everyday stories in his red shoes, one wants to exclaim: "Stop it! That never and nowhere happened, he just made it up!" But all these incidents, which we can laugh at incredulously and heartily, have been experienced by him himself. Heinrich Del Core is a magnet that attracts bizarre everyday situations and presents them to us with his inimitably witty charm.
And now the time has come: Heinrich is going to be a grandpa. Or in other words: his wife is going to be a grandma!
The new situation turns everything upside down. From one day to the next, Del Core's world is a different one. He buys a stroller that costs as much as a moped used to, and today a Thermomix. He downloads baby apps for his wife and bakes mother cakes for family coffee gatherings. Then they get married, environmentally conscious and vegan. But real joy does not seem to arise when you are supposed to throw unhulled whole grain rice at the bridal couple.
But with grandparents, many problems dissolve into thin air. For example, the bedroom: how often was restful sleep prevented by the wife's cold feet, the perpetual fight for the blanket, or because the man makes noise and air pressure comparable to a leaf blower. When the grandchild visits on the weekend, Heinrich has to move out.
Of course, this affects self-confidence. And doesn’t “Opa” sound totally old? Actually, he feels even younger - except in the morning when getting up. Sometimes his joints make noises. But his wife always lifts his spirits: “Heinrich, you are really fit.” Overall, she seems to cope much better with the new situation. She says: “Being a grandma is like being a mom - only nicer.” She never thought about aging. She once left a note for the children: “Are at the cemetery” and Heinrich wrote underneath: “But will come back.”
But despite all the changes in his life, this program is a typical Heinrich-Del-Core evening, because he himself says:
“My wife is going to be a grandma, but I stay the old one.”
