Nostalgia | Live Orchestra | Classic Film «Heidi,» the 1952 classic film, is enjoying a very special revival. The black-and-white feature film, based on Johanna Spyri’s world-famous story, is still considered the most poetic and impressive adaptation of the tale of Heidi, the orphan girl from Graubünden. She lives in the mountains with her bitter grandfather, Alpöhi, played by the legendary Heinrich Gretler, and loves spending her days with the goatherd. One day, she is torn from this familiar world and ends up in Frankfurt, where she meets Klara, who has difficulty walking. The Graubünden Chamber Philharmonic performs Robert Blum’s film score live to accompany the action unfolding on screen. The live music production was specially reworked by Swiss musician Raban Brunner and will celebrate its world premiere in 2027, marking the 200th birthday of the legendary Swiss author Johanna Spyri. Film and music merge into a unique, nostalgic concert experience for all generations ages 6 and up, bringing a significant piece of Swiss cinema history to life. The Graubünden Chamber Philharmonic is a renowned Swiss orchestra founded in 1989 and based in Chur. It captivates audiences with its lively and diverse performances of classical and modern music and makes a significant contribution to cultural life in the canton of Graubünden and far beyond through concerts, tours, and educational projects.
