The heavytones, who participated in over 2,500 Late Night Shows with Stefan Raab, as well as in special formats like "Unser Star für Oslo" or "Gottschalk's big 90s Show," have been the most prominent and profile band on German television for almost two decades. They significantly shape the character of each TV and live show with their powerful live sound. The outstanding quality of the heavytones has also made them a sought-after backing band over the years, and the list of international stars they have worked with LIVE is quite long: Kylie Minogue, Adele, James Brown, Herbert Grönemeyer, Lionel Richie, Michael Bublé, Joe Cocker, Eminem, Tom Jones, Anastacia, Joss Stone, Katie Melua, Ronan Keating, Sugababes, Anastacia, Busta Rhymes, No Angels, Mary J. Blige, Bootsy Collins, Ricky Martin, Natasha Bedingfield, Jan Delay, Pussycat Dolls, Melanie C., Chris Isaak, Jason Mraz, David Garrett, Cecilia Bartoli, Curtis Stigers.
Similarly, the heavytones were involved in the ESC castings and thus at the birth of today's German music stars like Stefanie Heinzmann, Max Mutzke, Gregor Meyle, or Lena Meyer-Landrut, supporting these young artists in their early days and helping them get started musically. Beyond the television industry, the heavytones enjoy an excellent reputation and have established their own rank in the German music scene with four CD releases: "heavytones No. 01" (2006), "Freaks Of Nature" (2010), "Songs That Didn't Make It To The Show" (2015), and "a tribute to Earth Wind and Fire" (2019), as well as in their live performances. Their recognizable and versatile band sound, along with the high caliber of their instrumentalists, who also work with artists like "Till Brönner," "Marc Forster," Herbert Grönemeyer, the Fantastischen Vier, or Helene Fischer during their tour concerts, are particularly impressive. They demonstrated this most recently in spring 2024 when they embarked on a joint live tour with rapper "Xatar," starting with his rap music re-arranged in heavytones - Funk - style, selling out major venues like the Elbphilharmonie, the Philharmonie Cologne, and the Stuttgart State Opera.
