«Hear It Coming»

Description

«The future belongs to those who hear it coming» – this quote by David Bowie is the starting point and source of inspiration for «Hear it Coming». The evening unfolds as a spatial musical sculpture made of people, instruments, speakers, and light. Songs, instrumental passages, and sound phenomena flow seamlessly into one another. The piece moves between the immediacy of the human voice and the emergence of acoustic beings, combining elements of concert, sound installation, and collective listening ritual. There is no single optimal listening position. A speaker system hovering above the audience creates a constantly changing sound body from the sounds and movements of the musicians.
In «Hear it Coming», the individual moves out of the center of perception. The focus is on an intense collective listening situation, a recalibration of the senses. The six songs that structure the work unfold a posthuman narrative about restlessness and vigilance, about time cycles and the connections between humans, technology, and nature.
