Presentation of student works and reading by Ulli Lust At the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, the seminar »Putz und Panels« led by Mia Oberländer has artistically explored the history of the house at Schwanenwik 38: from private villa to X-ray institute and dance school to »Protective Custody for Young Women« to the current Literature House. The result is an impressive brochure. The students present their works and discuss the creative process. »The Woman as a Human – At the Beginning of History« was in 2025 the first comic ever to be awarded the German Non-Fiction Book Prize. Ulli Lust guides through millennia of female activity and human creative power, a large-scale exploration of the role of women in art and cultural history. Now, the eagerly awaited sequel »The Woman as a Human – Shamans« (Reprodukt) has been published. Ulli Lust, born in 1967 in Vienna, is one of the most important German-speaking comic artists. She teaches drawing and comics at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences. Her comic »Today is the Last Day of the Rest of Your Life« received international attention and was awarded the Ignatz Award and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.
