Description

Based on Benedict Wells' "... and I felt the way I had wanted to feel my whole life: exuberant, alert, in the middle of everything, and immortal." Summer 1985. In a sleepy small town, the 15-year-old Sam begins a time that changes everything. Between flickering cinema nights, new friendships, and first love, he discovers a life that suddenly feels vast and possible. But in the midst of this fragile happiness, a loss strikes, forcing him to say goodbye and meet himself anew. Hard Land tells of belonging and departure, friendship, grief, and moments that leave an indelible mark — like a song that echoes long after. A production by frau emma gelb. Funded by the Hamburg Authority for Culture and Media, the rehearsal space funding of the Dachverband freie darstellende Künste Hamburg (DfdK), and the Claussen-Simon-Stiftung. The performance rights are held by Diogenes Verlag.
