Hänsel und Gretel - Family Musical based on the famous fairy tale opera by Engelbert Humperdinck and Adelheid Wette.

Description

The family musical “Hänsel und Gretel” by the Kleine Oper Bad Homburg is a child-friendly adaptation of the classic fairy tale opera by Engelbert Humperdinck and Adelheid Wette.
In a fascinating way, the romantic opera material is shortened for children and transformed into a lively, entertaining musical. The whole production features colorful costumes, elaborate stage design, creative lighting, and pyrotechnics. Piano music and singing are live. Brilliant, playful singers perform. Rock and pop come from the CD. The Kleine Oper Bad Homburg is famous for its brilliant stage show.
The story told is very simple and almost exactly the fairy tale of the Brothers Grimm. The parents in Humperdinck’s fairy tale opera are kinder than in the original fairy tale. Famous folk songs, such as: “Suse, liebe Suse...” and “Brüderchen komm tanz mit mir...” have been incorporated and are well known to many adults and children.
The evil witch herself lures the children to the witch’s house, and then it gets turbulent.
Of course, there is a happy ending at the end. The father finds his children safe again, and Hänsel..., but no, more will not be revealed here.
Since its world premiere on December 23, 1893, conducted by Richard Strauss, this fairy tale opera has become world-famous. The Kleine Oper Bad Homburg now brings this fairy tale to you in a lively, elaborate production and in the most beautiful musical performance.
