Description

Play about everything When Hamlet returns home, nothing is as it was. The father is dead, the mother Gertrude is newly married to his uncle Claudius, who now rules Denmark. For young Hamlet, the world has fallen apart. Then the father's ghost appears and laments: Claudius poisoned him. Can this be true? Who can be trusted anymore – the living, the dead, oneself? With the help of an acting troupe, Hamlet aims to uncover the truth. But the game within the game becomes a trap: Hamlet gets caught in the endless loop of his own story. Scenes repeat, perspectives shift, new truths are revealed. Appearance and reality are now almost indistinguishable. After the great success of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', the Basel company again dedicates itself to a Shakespeare masterpiece. Who is acting here and who is not? And if everyone is acting, who can still be truly real?
