The grand dame of seafaring – that was the CAP SAN DIEGO when she sailed under the flag of Hamburg Süd. She was a symbol of proud merchant shipping, exclusive designs, and modern technical equipment. The CAP SAN DIEGO and her sister ships were known as the "white swans of the South Atlantic." A voyage aboard these ships was something very special for both passengers and crew. In 2020, Hamburg Süd was sold to the shipping company Maersk and dissolved as an independent shipping company. For many former employees and friends of Hamburg Süd, this was a painful farewell. On board the CAP SAN DIEGO, we revive the memories of Hamburg Süd's golden era and sail entirely in the spirit of the company's rich shipping history. Experience ship technology live:
Throughout the entire journey, the Cap San Diego can be visited at all stations, and you can experience every maneuver up close in the engine room as well as on the bridge. Our volunteer crew is available for all questions and is always up for a maritime chat. A very special experience awaits you in the impressive engine room: during the voyage, you can see the fascinating technology in operation live. The CAP SAN DIEGO is unique worldwide: nowhere else is there a larger, still operational museum ship of this class from the era of breakbulk cargo ships. Services:
