Gummi with the Axe

Description

The farmer Gummi lives with three animals: a pet, a farm animal, and a longing animal. Everyday life is not always carefree. Rexli does not want to be petted, Liselott has to give milk, and the Blue could eat Gummi at any time. One day, Gummi has to decide which of the animals should die. The play is suitable for adults and children from 8 years old and tells with little text about relationships between humans and other animals. On stage, objects transform into bodies and landscapes. Images of closeness, care, possession, fascination, and danger arise. Questions about meat consumption, pet keeping, or the romanticization of wild and zoo animals arise – with plenty of room for personal thoughts. Performance: Dominik Baumann Research. Concept.
