In the field, in war, or on journeys: Horses have accompanied us humans for thousands of years and are indispensable partners. Even at the beginning of the last century, carriages still dominated the cityscape. Today, the horsepower of cars, buses, or tractors has long since replaced living horses. Nevertheless, the fascination for these animals remains unbroken. As a hobby or romantic projection surface, horses are still very present in children's everyday lives. This is also evidenced by the numerous horses from the museum's collection that can be found during the exhibition.

In a tour through past and present horse worlds, the different and changing roles of the horse in human society are presented. A shared history of man and horse unfolds. In the process, the exhibition repeatedly invites visitors to change their perspectives: In addition to horse-loving children and professionals, the horses themselves also talk about their everyday lives as beasts of burden, draught or riding. They provide an insight into their lives, talk about their needs, and encourage visitors to think about human responsibility towards animals.

Children's fascination with horses serves as an ideal starting point for addressing historical change and ethical issues surrounding the animal. The combination of cultural-historical objects, interactive experiment stations, and true-to-life accounts of experiences makes the exhibition a unique experience for all generations.
