Recorded in Topanga Canyon, California, with Grammy-nominated producer Jonathan Wilson (Father John Misty, Angel Olsen, Margo Price), the album showcases an artist who uses her extraordinary voice in a new way: that deep, untamed alto timbre that instantly captivates. Between synthesizers, tension-filled string arrangements, and floating grooves, a sound unfolds that preserves the intimate warmth of her previous music while also taking new, unexpected paths. While her last album Ramona opened the doors to her world, Bloodhorse! leads directly into its darker corners. The songs revolve around life and death, self-determination, and self-inquiry.
