Generator #79: NN – Adam Pultz

Description

On the occasion of the 79th edition of Generator, Adam Pultz will premiere a new performance for the FAAB (Feedback-Actuated Augmented Bass). This includes a complete overhaul of the instrument's software as well as the development of new playing techniques to explore and improvise with the feedback behavior of the instrument. The FAAB is an electroacoustic, vibro-tactile feedback double bass, developed in 2019 together with Halldór Úlfarsson and has been Adam Pultz’s main instrument since 2020. Through self-amplification and digital signal processing, the strings of the FAAB enter into complex self-oscillations, offering a transformed sonic and performative space for exploration.
