Municipal Assembly

Description

The municipal assembly is the legislative body of the local community and thus its highest authority. The municipal assembly includes all persons entitled to vote in Altdorf. It takes place in Altdorf at least twice a year. In May, at the so-called 'accounting assembly', the sovereign is presented with, among other matters, the annual accounts of the previous year for approval; in November, at the 'budget assembly', the budget for the coming year is presented. The tasks and powers of the open village community, as the municipal assembly is also called, are regulated by the Altdorf municipal regulations.
