Guest curator Rudolf Velhagen leads through the Provençal nativity scene with its over 120 hand-painted figures from the traditional Atelier Marcel Carbonel in Marseille. He tells about the rich nativity tradition of Provence and presents selected «Santons» – shepherds, craftsmen, market women, musicians, and other villagers who bring to life a colorful southern French world around the birth of Christ.
