From Opera to Broadway

Description

When it is said, 'Curtain up for Karidion Brass', you are in the concert program 'From Opera to Broadway'. You will be ceremoniously welcomed in the first half of the concert with the splendid overture from Georg Friedrich Handel's Baroque opera 'Rinaldo'. This is followed by two arias from composers Antonín Dvořák and Ludwig van Beethoven, where each of the five musicians gets to take on the role of an opera singer. You will be sent into the intermission with excerpts from Richard Strauss' opera 'Der Rosenkavalier' and the famous drinking song from Giuseppe Verdi's 'La Traviata'. If you wonder how you suddenly arrived at Wolfgangsee in Austria, you will be welcomed in the second half of the concert with the sounds of Ralph Benatzky's 'Im weißen Rössl'. The music continues cheerfully with selections from 'My Fair Lady' and the Yiddish musical 'Men ken lebn nor men lost nisht'. For the grand finale, the music from the world-famous musical 'West Side Story' by L. Bernstein will be performed in an arrangement by Ingo Luis. Copyright: Karidion Brass
