Finale of the Composition Competition

Description

The finale of the 12th Composition Competition of Camerata Zürich focuses on new works for string orchestra. The compositions of the young finalists will be performed live for the first time in front of an audience on this evening. And that is what makes this concert special. The audience experiences firsthand how differently young composers write for string orchestra today, with what sensitivity they develop sound, form, and structure, and what new perspectives arise for an ensemble like Camerata Zürich. The Camerata Zürich Composition Competition is unique in this form and is not only an award but also a significant contribution to the promotion of contemporary music creation. A highly qualified jury selects the winners of this year's edition from the world premieres. The award ceremony takes place after the concert. During the Apéro riche, there is an opportunity to end the evening together and to engage in conversation with composers, the jury, and the ensemble. Free tickets must be booked online in advance.
