Description
Maxence Voiseux - FR/DE/CH - 2026 - 105 min - FR with German subtitles In northern France, Gabin, the youngest of the Jourdel family, finds himself destined to take over his father’s butcher shop. Torn between loyalty to his family and the desire to break free, his dreams lie elsewhere. He wants to train a show cow, become a dog breeder, and save his mother’s farm from financial ruin. Over the course of a decade, GABIN delves deeply into this boy’s world and chronicles his journey from age 8 to 18. A touching documentary that follows a boy on his quest to find his own path. Family relationships are shaped by expectations and feelings of guilt, but also by hopes and dreams. Underlying these are the challenges of a struggling farm, a small business without a successor, and a learning disability. A human portrait of the coming-of-age of a boy who is both ordinary and extraordinary. Ilù Seydoux * 1998
